Default Biggest Scam You Ever Seen In-Game!

I was thinking about posting up a thread about dumb scams so here it is. I have been all over guild wars and have seen some of the best scams you could imagine and I have also seen scams that are so dumb that it would be insane to fall for. Yes, there probebly is other threads on here that have this same concept but I am making it in my own way with my own rules. I would like everyone to share the worst scam they have ever seen in Guild Wars. You may also share the best scam you have ever seen ( my opinion there really is no good scam) And when I say worst I mean like so dumb that not even a noob could fall for ( I think you know what I am trying to say Anyways, Please stay on topic and try to be creative and funny as you can. And basically follow all the other rules that are listed in guru. I shall do an example and this really did happen to me:

Scammer: WTS 5 Ectos for 5k All!
Me: I am Interested In Buying All The Ectos
Scammer: Ok
Scammer: Come meet me at ______
Me: OK
|I open trade with him and he puts in 5 frozen ectos|
Me: I thaught you where selling regular ectos not frozen ones
Scammer: They are frozen ectos but they sell as regular ectos
| I quickly close the trade and tell him "no thanks please do not scam!"| This is an example of a dumb scam. As I said before, you may post dumb and smart scams.

- There is an example that really did happen to me. And to tell the rest of the story he actually did sell the frozen ectos for 5k to a noob.

- Thank You

The worst scam I've ever seen (and I fell for it *sob*) was about 2 1/2 years ago when I had just made it to Lion's Arch. Guy in all chat spamming something to the tune of "Join my party and pay 1k and I will tell you how to make 100k an hour!" so, myself, thinking "ZOMG! 100kz AN HOUR!??!??!" paid him the 1k right off the bat, and he tells me "Just do what I do" I kind of went "wat?" and he said "Tell people what I just told you and they will give you the 1k, then tell them to just do this". Dumbest.... Thing... Ever... At least I only lost 1k on the deal.

Best scam ever (wasn't even a Guild Wars related scam) was someone who zoned into Droknar's Forge about 2 years ago and spammed all chat with "George Bush has just been assassinated! Turn on your TV's NOW!"

I hastily ran to my TV and flipped it on... all excited-like... no deal... bawww...

- Thank You Everyone for Sharing! Keep Posting up Funny Scams!
You can also post up screenshots just like calista did but erase the names and follow the rest of guru screenshot rules....

I just heard about another scam my friend fell for and I think it was one of the wow scams! My friend was selling a gold perfect bow and a guy whispered to him saying that he wanted to buy it. The price was 8k for the bow and the guy who was buying the bow asked if they could step outside. My friend said "Sure why not!" He and the guy buying the bow went outside and the guy buying the bow said that his monitor was going a little bad today and he could not see the bow very well in the trade box. The guy buying the bow asked my friend to drop the bow on the ground and he would step far away from the bow. My friend thought to himself that if he is standing far away than why not. He dropped the bow on the ground and before you know it the bow got snatched by the guy buying the bow and my friend got scammed Thats a pretty good scam if you ask me... Has anyone ever seen this or ever seen better scams?

1 newby friend of mine got some good cash from a lucky drop but he didn't know prices so he spent it in 2 days xD
He bought a Bison Cup for 25k coz he was told that it's super rare and a customized purple bow for 5k...
A good scam that worked on the older dayz but won't work now, is when ppl were selling vial of ink to unsuspected newbies thinking that they're buying black dye =P

Worst scam attempt ever:
give me the item so I can equip it and see how good it looks on my character. If I like it I give you the money, if I don't I'll give the item back! You can trust me!

Biggest scam in game, must be quoting a Price Check from GWGuru when selling things.

I dont think this is a scam but today this is what I got

Someone was spamming "WTS minipet worth 10k,selling for 2k"

and I said

"can I have a look at it?"
he waited 5mins to reply..
and he came over and traded, it was a fungal mini pet worth 1k-2k..

/agree
he had no proof that u didn't pay him, but u had proof that u payed him, becoz when a trade is over there are green letters saying what trades u made and this way since anet can check chat logz they could have seen that u payed for the run
